Jon and Sylvia Bednarski have operated Sherwood Acres Beef for many years, but had decided to scale back the cattle business and downsize their farming operation in their retirement.

Jon still wanted to be involved in farming and loves working on the land. He was intrigued by Christmas Tree farming and while discussing the idea with his daughter, Kristin and son-in-law, William, they loved the idea. Will and Kristin have always loved the experience of cutting their own Christmas tree. 

Jon’s newly-retired brother-in-law, David Yount, and sister, Karen Bednarski, had purchased a farm of their own, Rask Farm, down the road and were also interested in growing trees.
